Fabio Lémus
Born in Chalatenango, El Salvador, based in Atlanta, Ga. Since 1989, converted to Christianity in April 1990, baptized in the same year by Pastor Tony Garcia at Briarlake Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga. and called to pastoral ministry in 1997.
Ordained to ministry by Immanuel Baptist Church in conjunction with New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Server in different ministries at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church; as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth leader and ordained to the Diaconate in 1993. On a pastoral level the first 7 years as pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church and then since 2003 pastor of IBR, as planter of both Churches.
Additionally, a teacher at different Bible Institutes in the city of Atlanta. Married since 1989 to sister Elsy Lemus of Salvadoran origin; blessed with two daughters: Flor de María and Elsy Griselda Lemus and lately blessed with two granddaughters: Alessandra and Micaela Hernández Lemus.
ELSY LÉMUS
Born in Chalatenango, El Salvador. Based in Atlanta, Ga. Since 1990, she grew up in the gospel, but converted in 1991 to the Briarlake Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Garcia and was baptized by immersion in water that same year. She is a faithful servant in different ministries such as pastoral support, Sunday School and Children’s Church; children’s ministry and women’s ministry and Missions.
Missions Pastor
TONY GARCÍA
Pastor Tony has been part of Iglesia Bautista Resurreccion (IBR) since October 2019. Pastor Tony was retired from his previous ministry as the Pastor of Iglesia El Calvario which he served for approximately 20 years. In his ministry history, Pastor Tony was licensed by the Second Ponce De León Baptist Church in 1979 and then ordained to the Ministry by the Briarlake Baptist Church in January 1981 in which he served as the Pastor of the Hispanic Ministry for approximately 10 years.
Pastor Tony is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Seminary in Pastoral Ministries and Christian Education. For many years he served as a bi-vocational Pastor working as a Manager at Wachovia, Nations Bank, and Suntrust banks in Atlanta. In his career, God gave him the opportunity to make several missionary trips and Christian Campaigns to Chile, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Also, Pastor Fabio Lemus (Senior Pastor of IBR) appointed him as the Director of Missions, who together with his wife Dionnie Figueroa serve in various areas of the Church.
Youth Pastor
NOÉ FELIPE
He was born in the city of San Marcos, Guatemala, on May 15, 1987. He emigrated to the United States in 2005, converting to the Lord in 2007 at the Resurrection Baptist Church of Atlanta, Ga. under the direction of Pastor and founder Fabio Lemus. He has felt the call to serve as a Youth Ministry leader since 2010.
As a Deacon, as a trainer of Discipleship and Leadership of said IBR church. During the year 2017 continuing with the call of the Lord; IBR ordains him as a youth pastor. He currently resides in the city of Lawrenceville, Ga. and he has been married since 2013 to Sara Felipe-Hernández, together they have a son, Isaac Felipe.
